What impresses me with Rails is the way that framework is is fast and flexible as Brad says, but also its scalability. I see no reason security would be different. Finally the openness of the built in API’s should make it easier to link with host systems and existing web services.

But would such a technology have the security necessary to keep consumers feeling secure?

Maybe consumers like the clunky slow interfaces we have today because they ‘feel’ safe.

The bigger issue is to create it in Rails because of the agility and speed you’ll have with it.

I wouldn’t just want a ‘Rails representation’ of online banking but would want someone to get out of standard online banking platforms and do it in a new way. And I agree that Rails would be a good framework to do that in.
