The Tribalization of Business | Beeline Labs

Just listened to Francois Gossieaux deliver this presentation at #cdninst. Fascinating and insightful – research based analysis on the attitudes and behaviours of people relative to communities. Good examples too.

  3. Excellent presentation, thx for posting Colin, and thanks to Francois for sharing.

But all this talk about communities and tribes (is there a difference?) is all well and fine, but I think no one has yet to address the key question: What is the role of for-profit business organizations in these tribes/communities?

Is it to create the community/tribe? Or is it to become part of some community/tribe, and if so, how exactly does an organization do that?

It’s not enough for social media proponents to tell firms to “join the conversation” — they need to provide advice on HOW to join it.
