Excellent presentation, thx for posting Colin, and thanks to Francois for sharing.

But all this talk about communities and tribes (is there a difference?) is all well and fine, but I think no one has yet to address the key question: What is the role of for-profit business organizations in these tribes/communities?

Is it to create the community/tribe? Or is it to become part of some community/tribe, and if so, how exactly does an organization do that?

It's not enough for social media proponents to tell firms to "join the conversation" -- they need to provide advice on HOW to join it.
